19-inch TVs have all but disappeared from the market. If you had a 19″ TV built into a wall, and it’s finally given out, the standard TVs available today likely won’t fit the opening you already have.
The good news is that we can custom-build a replacement for you. It’s not something we stock, though. Every 19″ TV we ship goes through our custom shop, made to the exact opening you’re working with, not pulled off a shelf. Not only does this ensure your TV seamlessly replaces your old model, but it allows you to customize the cosmetics of your new TV, too.
Why 19″ TVs Are Disappearing
As screens have gotten cheaper to produce at larger sizes, TV makers have shifted their production and R&D almost entirely toward bigger screens, where both the manufacturing efficiency and the consumer demand live. The major consumer electronics brands have largely exited the under-24-inch category altogether.
That leaves a real gap for anyone whose 19″ TV just died and has an exact-sized hole in the wall to deal with. That’s the part we can actually help with, because we build to your opening, not to a warehouse shelf.
We’ve Done This Before
The problem is always the same: a hole in the wall, sized for a TV that doesn’t exist anymore. Here are two examples.
In one case, the TV sat beside a bathroom vanity in a custom-built house, and the wall cavity couldn’t be touched. We hand-built a replacement to the exact dimensions of that opening: a redesigned mounting bracket, internal speakers removed to fit the shallow depth, and a fine-tuned screen-to-bezel ratio to make the most of a tight space. It also integrated with the home’s existing automation system.
In another, the TV was built into a stone backsplash that couldn’t be modified either. The original had a metal bezel. We offered a different finish instead of trying to replicate it exactly, and black ended up being the more appealing fit.
Same underlying problem both times (and all the time): an opening that needed filling, not a wall that needed changing.
